Recently it has appeared on the internet news and radio of a man: Benny Shanon, who claims that Moses was HIGH when he received the Ten Commandments from God on Mount Sinai. He claims there are various plants located in that area that could give a hallucinogenic reaction. He doesn't believe Moses had a Spiritual encounter.
If this man is trying to claim Moses was high then he discredits everything that Moses had done, and is he going to stop at Moses or is he going to try and pull apart many other stories of the Bible that we hold near and dear?
If Moses was in fact high, the Ten Commandments wouldn't be as concrete as they are. They wouldn't be "thou shalt not kill" kind of concrete and specific down to the tenth which talks about the things thou shalt not covet of your neighbor's.
I highly doubt that this man of God was high when he received the Commandments. I believe he did in fact have a conversation with God not once but numerous occasions. It's all a matter of faith and I doubt Mr. Shanon has faith of his own or else he wouldn't doubt the mere possibility of a spiritual encounter. Maybe he needs one himself to find out that it is true.
